Object Templates¶
Ready-made object templates let you quickly insert the most commonly used visual elements onto the screen, such as symbols, indicators, or elements of process installations. Thanks to them, designing screens is faster and more consistent — without having to build objects from scratch every time.
The Template selection window is opened from the Toolbox, using the Insert template button. Once opened, it displays a list of available templates, grouped by topic.
Template groups¶
The templates are divided into the following groups:
-
SYMBOLS
Contains universal pictograms and graphic signs, such as alarms, information, flags, or warning icons. -
INDICATORS
Ready-made elements for visualizing measured values and states, e.g. clocks, analog and digital indicators. -
PIPES
Installation elements used to build diagrams of pipelines and process connections. -
TANKS
Templates of tanks and containers, intended for visualizing media storage processes. -
PUMPS
Ready-made symbols for pumps and flow devices, used in process diagrams. -
LAMPS
Signaling elements, such as indicator lights and light signals. -
SWITCHES
Interactive objects, letting you control and change states, e.g. buttons and switches. -
OTHER
Other templates that may be useful in projects.
Each group is described in detail in a separate chapter of the documentation.
Inserting templates onto the screen¶
To insert an object onto the screen:
- Open the Template selection window from the Toolbox by clicking the Insert template button.
- Select the group and template you want to add.
- Click the ADD button, or double-click the selected template.
The selected template will be inserted onto the screen at a default position. Once the templates window is closed, the object can be further edited – changing its position, size, and properties.
Adding identical elements
Each click of the ADD button inserts a new object. If you add the same template several times, several objects placed in the same spot (one on top of another) will appear on the screen.
Quickly adding a template
Double-clicking a selected template in the template selection window inserts it onto the screen and automatically closes the selection window. This lets you quickly move on to editing the inserted object.
